FIR lodged at Azara police station against whereabouts of Bhupen Hazarika’s Bharat Ratna

GUWAHATI: An FIR was lodged at Azara police station by Priyanku Protim Parasar on Saturday, who demanded an investigation regarding the whereabouts of the Bharat Ratna awarded posthumously to Dr Bhupen Hazarika. Parasar questioned in the FIR the whereabouts of the certificate and the medallion which as per the will of Hazarika, should have been on display at the Sankardev Kalakshetra among all his other records. He further questioned if the award is still in Assam or flown away elsewhere by Bhupen Hazarika’s son Tez Hazarika, who received the Bharat Ratna on his behalf.
