Five suspected child labourers rescued near Kamakhya Temple, Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The Kamrup Metro District Child Protection Unit (KMDCPU) with assistance from the district administration rescued five suspected child labourers during an operation conducted in the areas near Kamakhya Temple.

Following the rescue, the children's medical tests and COVID tests were conducted. The Childline Guwahati and the KMDCPU have taken the responsibility for the welfare of the rescued children under the aegis of Child Welfare Committee.

In the operation, they also interrogated other children in the area who were suspected to be labourers.
