Food Safety Department, Kamrup (M) Slapped 11 Eateries With Closure Notices

GUWAHATI: An investigation was conducted by the Food Safety Department, Kamrup (M) on Wednesday, after which three more restaurants were served closure notice. The eateries New City Dhaba, All The Time Restaurant, and Hotel City Line Restaurant have been issued a week long closure notice from Wednesday while Commerce J14, Sikha Fast Food, Kanchan D Corner, Krishna Fast Food, New Momo Ghar, Roll Corner, Red Pepper and Honey’s Food Store have been ordered to close down for a week from Thursday.

A senior officer of the Food Safety Kamrup (M) department informed that upon investigation, the work places were found to be unhygienic and unsanitary and had no proper food safety license. Some were lacking in adequate space for storage, were poorly lighted and ventilated, floor and wall dirty, equipments, vessels and containers in insanitary condition, no provision for proper drainage, use of expired spices, etc.
