Four held for gang-raping minor in Sonapur

GUWAHATI: The Khetri Police have arrested four persons for allegedly gang-raping a minor girl in the Uloni area of Khetri on July 23.

According to police, the accused have been identified as Bakul Baishya of Maloibari, Bikash Sarkar of Durung, Chiranjit Sarkar of Durung and Keshab Biswas of Nagaon. Meanwhile, the four accused are being interrogated by the Khetri Police and the following case has been registered in this regard — 152/2021 u/s 376 IPC and r/w 4 of POCSO Act. The 12-year-old victim is a resident of Tamholong, the police said.
