Give 100% sanction of houses as per target - Naba Kumar Doley

Minister Doley reviews progress of P & RD schemes

GUWAHATI: “It is our proud privilege to have the opportunity of rendering our service for the upliftment of the poor rural folk. Therefore, we should be committed and perform our duty with dedication.”—said Naba Kumar Doley, Minister, Panchayat & Rural Development (P & RD) Department while reviewing the progress of implementation of rural development schemes in the state in a meeting held on Friday at the Conference Hall of Commissioner, P & RD. The meeting was attended by all the senior officials of the department, the Chief Executive Officers of Zilla Parishad and PDs of DRDA. Giving New Year greeting to all present, Minister Doley also urged all the officials of the department to perform their duties with new enthusiasm and also to set example to inspire all the newly elected representatives of Panchayati Raj Institution for their active participation and involvement.

Reviewing the progress and performance of PMAY-G, MGNREGA, NSAP, 14th Finance Commission and other components of RD programmes, the Minister set time for completion of all schemes and made clear that the state should not suffer for negligence of any district in implementation of the schemes.

Minister Doley also directed all senior field functionaries to conduct frequent review with Block Development Officers and other field functionaries to accelerate the pace of implementation. He stressed upon creating mandays under MGNREGA as per labour budget allocated to the state for the current financial year and also to follow the ratio of 65% in natural resource management under MGNREGA. He instructed to complete all the previous years’ incomplete schemes within this month.

Mentioning that the districts should make the people aware of the Kushal Konwar Sarbajanin Briddha Pension Achoni from which approx 2 lakhs beneficiaries are already benefitted, he instructed to verify all the new applications received under the scheme in a mission mode so that all the eligible beneficiaries may be brought under this scheme within 1 February, 2019.

Reviewing the progress of PMAY-G Minister Doley asked to give 100% sanction of the houses as per target set by the Government of India within January. He reiterated the need of rendering service dedicatedly by the stakeholders of P & RD for all round development of the poor rural people and thus making the department a dynamic one.

Earlier Commission P & RD, P Ashok Babu delivered the welcome address. Present in the meeting, Principal Secretary, P & RD, J B Ekka gave valuable suggestions for accelerating the implementation of various schemes. On the other hand Babu directed all senior field functionaries to prepare and send district wise action plans as per the timeline decided in the meeting and also said that necessary guideline would be sent in this regard.
