Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) sanitization continues

GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation conducted their sanitization programme in major areas of the city by using fire tenders and Varun Vehicle, on Tuesday.

The Guwahati Municipal Corporation under the supervision of Devajyoti Hazarika, Commissioner, GMC covered the major areas like All India Radio Campus, Assam Engineering Institute campus and prof. colony, Panbazar over bridge, G S road from Rukminigaon upto supermarket via RP road, Nehru Park and surrounding areas of Cotton university, Paltan Bazar area including Kalimandir, Gandhibasti main road and it's byelanes using fire tenders and varun vehicle.

It is to be mentioned that as GMC has constituted a special team to meet up the maximum possible public request for sanitization, some of the areas that the special team covered on Tuesday include Hotel Brinda near ISBT, Hotel Royal Heritage near ISBT, CRPF Camp, Kalibari, Paltan Bazar, Assam State Warehousing Corporation and many other areas.

In a bid to tackle the spread of coronavirus, the GMC along with the Fire & Emergency Services, Assam has been conducting sanitization drives since the phase 1 of the lockdown. The sanitization process is very crucial and the GMC is leaving no stone underturned in executing the drive. Meanwhile, the State government has relaxed the lockdown norms from morning 6 am to evening 6 pm.
