Guwahati Police conduct raid in city apartment, seized Rs 3.65 lakh cash

GUWAHATI: Police crackdown on cricket betting continues. Guwahati Police, Crime Branch conducted an operation on Saturday night in an apartment at Nabagraha in the city.

The apartment belonged to Ajay Agarwal. Police did not find him there but they managed to seize Rs 3.65 lakh cash, a laptop and five mobile phone handsets.

Guwahati Police, Crime Branch, had launched an operation in Guwahati recently and busted an Indian Premier League (IPL) betting racket. Police had arrested three gamblers – Dipesh Bajoria, Raunak Bajoria and Rajesh Jain. The trio was allegedly operating a cricket betting racket across the State and the north-eastern region as well.
