Guwahati: Swiggy Delivery Boy Found Dead In Hengrabari

The police is yet to determine the exact reason behind his sudden death but said that the investigation to look into the matter has begun.

Guwahati: In an unfortunate incident, a body of a Swiggy delivery boy was found by some locals in the Hengrabari area of Guwahati on the morning of May 4.

The deceased person has been identified as Dipankar Bora, who hailed from Maniknagar in Guwahati.

The police are yet to determine the exact reason behind his sudden death but said that the investigation to look into the matter has begun.

A team of Guwahati police rushed to the site of the incident and sent the body for post-mortem.

It is worth noting that numerous dead bodies had been discovered in various parts of the city in the last one and half months.

As per reports, the police have been unable to identify most of the bodies.

Notably, the state of Assam has witnessed a sporadic surge of violent crimes and it has instilled fear in the minds of the people. These terrible incidents have left the people across the state shell-shocked of late.

Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had said that the crime rate in the state for this year was lower than that of last year.

"State crime has decreased by 30% this year compared to last year. In January 2021, a total of 8661 cases were registered with the national police station, and the number of cases was 7706 in January this year," the Assam CM said.

The number of cases decreased to 8,941 cases in the state in February 2021 and decreased to 5,425 cases in February this year," the CM added.

He went on to say that the drop in crime rates demonstrates that police crackdown on criminals has turned out to be fruitful.
