Indian Red Cross Society, Assam State Branch gears up to fight against COVID-19 pandemic

GUWAHATI: In view of COVID-19 that continues to escalate every passing day, the Indian Red Cross Society, Assam State Branch along with its district, sub-district and unit branches have initiative measures to fight the pandemic.

A total of 25 branches of the organization are conducting several activities to address the crisis. Hence the volunteers, staff and members of the organization are taking several initiatives to create awareness among the public.

The different initiatives taken by the organization include- awareness and demonstration on hand washing, dissemination drives about do’s and don’ts for COVID-19, door-to-door campaign, distribution of leaflet and posters, food items distribution, TV advertisement and many others. The organization took some future plan of actions including– distribution of necessary items available at its warehouses, utilization of spaces at Red Cross Hospitals i.e. Karimganj, Silchar and Guwahati.
