GUWAHATI: Taking customer convenience one step further, the Chairman of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL), S.M. Vaidya launched the 'missed call' facility to avail new connections without visiting the showrooms, on Friday. He also launched the facility to provide a 'Double Bottle' connection at doorstep to the already existing Indane customers having a single cylinder.

Now, IndianOil customers can book a new connection by giving a missed call to 8454955555 through their unregistered mobile number which will generate an SMS with a link where they can register themselves. Existing customers can also use this missed call facility to book their refills from their registered mobile numbers.

With respect to the other customer-centric initiative, the IndianOil has now offered to provide a double bottle connection at the customer's doorstep. LPG delivery boys will be carrying extra 5 kg LPG cylinders "Chotu" and 14.2 kg LPG Cylinders with them.

Customers who want to avail a second Indane LPG cylinder along with their existing connection can complete all paper formalities at their doorstep and take the additional Double Bottle connection at their doorstep.

Briefing the media on the initiatives launched, Executive Director & State Head of IndianOil AOD G. Ramesh said that becoming a new customer has become much easier for customers today. This is besides the various other initiatives launched to ease the booking of LPG through IVRS, Whatsapp, IndianOil ONE app and the IndianOil website.

Talking about the facility of getting a second cylinder delivered at the customers' doorstep, Ramesh hoped that the 5 kg "Chotu" LPG Cylinder can act as a stop gap arrangement for customers who have a single bottle connection similar to the 'Night – Watchman' in Cricket.

Informing of the increased LPG availability in the region, he said that the backlog of LPG in the region has come down to below one day now as opposed to over 10 days a couple of years back. This has been possible only due to the relentless efforts of the entire LPG supply chain in the region, he added.

Ramesh urged all customers to stay at home and stay safe during the pandemic as the IndianOil will ensure home delivery of Indane LPG cylinders so that the kitchen remains fully functional. He also mentioned about the "Pehle Safe, Phir Drive" campaign across all IndianOil Petrol Pumps where customers will be given free masks and sanitizers on the purchase of a minimum amount of fuel.

A demonstration of the 'missed call' facility was also given by GM(LPG), IndianOil AOD M.B. Manohar Roy in presence of a new customer. After confirming his new connection, the customer expressed his happiness at the ease with which he got a new Indane LPG connection. He was even more elated when he was informed that his connection would be delivered within the same day, stated a press release.
