Kamrup district road safety committee launched mobile app to prevent road accidents

GUWAHATI: The Kamrup District Road Safety Committee (KDRSC) launched a mobile App to prevent road accidents, helping victims of accidents, analyze of reasons behind road accidents and their scientific prevention at the Kamrup DC office at Amingaon here on Thursday. This is the first such App in the State.

Kamrup DC Kamal Kumar Baishya, who is also the KDRSC chairman, presided over the programme and launched the App. He said, “This App will help various departments like Transport, the District Administration, Police, the Department of Health and Family Welfare and the National Highway Authority of India to work in unison, and help prevent accidents and extend help to accident victims.” Kamrup DTO Gautam Das, who is the member-secretary of the KDRSC, said, “City bus services from Amingaon to Guwahati will be a reality soon. Such a bus service will help ease traffic congestion in Guwahati to an extent.” Kamrup district Additional SP Sanjib Saikia said, “The NHAI should detect the accident-prone spots on the highway and use signals.”
