Integrated education campaign on road safety awareness held in Lakhimpur

LAKHIMPUR: A sensitizing programme as a part of the Integrated Education Campaign on Road Safety Awareness was held at Lakhimpur Telahi Kamalaboria College of Lakhimpur district on Tuesday.

The programme was organized under the auspices of the Lakhimpur District Road Safety Committee and District Transport Office in association with Dil Swadhin Air NGO. It commenced with the college Principal, Dr Bubul Kumar Saikia in the chair. Dil Swadhin Air NGO secretary Hemanta Bonia explained the objectives of the event.

Lakhimpur District Transport Officer Sitaram Doley was present in the programme as an appointed speaker. He laid emphasis on strict adherence to traffic rules by every citizen. On the other hand, academician Tileswar Borah and Madhav Chandra Phukan from Lakhimpur Health Department highlighted various aspects of the traffic acts and the duties of students and other citizens with regard to maintaining a healthy traffic system.
