Man held with smuggled areca nut by East Guwahati Police District

GUWAHATI: A team of the East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) from the Jorabat Outpost of the Basistha Police Station intercepted a TATA truck (AS11DC1788) on Tuesday and seized 50 bags of smuggled Myanmarese areca nut weighing about 2.5 tonne.

According to police sources, one Aksar Hussain of Silchar was arrested in this connection.
