Masjid committees cancel 'Iftar parva' & restrict gatherings during 'namaz' in Guwahati
Many masjid committees have cancelled the ‘Iftar parva’ and also issued restrictions on the number of faithful offering ‘namaz’ in the respective masjid premises across the city, informed advocate and leading member of the community — Nekibur Zaman.

GUWAHATI: Many masjid committees have cancelled the 'Iftar parva' and also issued restrictions on the number of faithful offering 'namaz' in the respective masjid premises across the city, informed advocate and leading member of the community — Nekibur Zaman.
Talking to The Sentinel, Zaman added, "The above restrictions have been issued considering the latest COVID-19 protocols."
In Guwahati, the above restrictions are in place at Burha Jamia Masjid, Ambari; Rajdhani Masjid, Dispur; and Hatigaon Jamia Masjid.
Zaman added, "Since many faithful congregate to offer 'Tarabi Namaz' during Ramadan and also when regular 'namaz parva' is organized. Now, only 20 persons will be allowed during these religious occasions."
He urged all to follow the COVID-19 protocols to check further spike of pandemic cases.
Zaman added, "We have also kept our 'kabarsthans' ready for the last rites of people who die due to COVID-19."
