GUWAHATI: A meeting regarding the conduct of the forthcoming Republic Day celebrations at Khanapara Veterinary Ground was held at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner's office here on Wednesday.

Chaired by Deputy Commissioner Biswajit Pegu, the meeting was attended by senior officers of the district administration, police, Lok Nirman Bibhag, Public Health Engineering, Education, Transport, Cultural Affairs, Health, Tourism, GMC, GMDA, APDCL, and Information and Public Relations.

DC Pegu directed all the officials present at the meeting to prepare the Ground for the celebrations in a time-bound manner. He discussed the security related issues with the officials to tackle any untoward incident during the celebrations. He also emphasized on the need for cleanliness of the area, and implementation of COVID-19 protocols during the programme.

While Guwahati Police Deputy Commissioner of Police Bedanta Madhab Rajkhowa briefed the roles and responsibilities of the police personnel, ADC Bipul Kumar Das explained the role of every department for the successful execution of the programme.
