New Pension Scheme employees' association to cease work on February 23
The All Assam Government NPS Employees' Association will stage a cease work on February 23 to show their resentment against the New Pension Scheme (NPS).

GUWAHATI: The All Assam Government NPS Employees' Association will stage a cease work on February 23 to show their resentment against the New Pension Scheme (NPS).
Association's president Achuyutananda Hazarika in a statement said, "In the State budget of 2021-22 there is no mention about re-implementing the Old Pension Scheme (OPS). It shows the government's lack of concern to the retired employees. We are disappointed by this type of behaviour from the government."
The Association expressed concern over the government not taking any written decision regarding the payment of Rs 10 lakh as retirement gratuity for employees whose service tenures are very short after regularization.
