New president of Sishu Shiksha Samity, Assam Prof Dibyajyoti Mahanta

GUWAHATI: Sishu Shiksha Samity, Assam, a prestigious organization of the State, has unanimously nominated prominent educationist Prof Dibyajyoti Mahanta, Dean, Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University, as the president of the organization for the next term of the executive in its annual general body meeting held in the Samity's Academic Complex in Hajongbori, Chandrapur.

The meeting was presided by the outgoing president Prof Nirmal Barua and was attended by many educationists and social activists like former Vice-Chancellor Dr Nirmal Kumar Choudhury, national general secretary of Vidya Bharati, Brahma Ji Rao, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangha Pranta Pramukh Nripen Barman, principals of different colleges and schools of the State and many other prominent persons working in the field of education and culture. Dr Mahanta will be in the position for next three years and will lead the samity in academic activities.

Dr Mahanta is associated as a member of ICH in Sangeet Natak Academy, New Delhi. Also, he is an active member of the Task Force constituted by the Government of Assam for NEP 2020 for strategic planning and study to implement it in the State.
