New Year celebrations in Guwahati amid strict Covid 19 protocol

Guwahati: New Year celebrations took place amid the Covid 19 protocol issued by the Kamrup (M) District Administration and Guwahati police for certain New Year parties in Guwahati.

Only 25 participants were allowed to attend any indoor party at a time and were asked to wind up their party by 12 AM.

Participants below 21 years were restricted from attending the party.

The organizer had been asked to ensure proper thermal screening at the entry gate and to mandatory wearing masks and maintaining social distancing all the participants during the party ensuring enforcement of all the Covid 19 protocol.

The organizer had been asked to obey traffic rules and not to cause any obstruction to the other road users and hindrance to normal traffic flow at the nearby road during the programme.

The organizer was asked to install CCTV cameras at the programme premises in consultation with local police stations and keep uninterrupted power supply and provision of generator at the venue and to maintain low volume of music without disturbing general public.

Furthermore, to erected any kind of pandal or construction/ structure for the programme was asked to made with fire retarded materials.

The organizer had been asked to obtain 'No Objection' certificate from Pornographic Performance Limited, India Guwahati Branch while playing pre-recorded music in the form of Gramophone Records music cassettes or CD etc.

Permission/ approval/ NOC from the competent Authority under the Assam Excise Act 1910 was required to sale of any type of alcohol or alcoholic beverage during the programme.

The organiser was required to maintain decorum and decency during the programme.

The above mentioned law and order was subjected to maintain during the New Year party according to the guidelines.
