NF Railway conducts mock drill

GUWAHATI: Calender for Site mock drill with concern NDRF was issued for every division from the office of the Chief Safety Officer JNFR. Accordingly, joint mock drill exercises were conducted in the year 2018-19 with NDRF personnel.

In order to ensure response to all eventualities like derailment, natural disaster are prompt and immediate, NF Railway Safety Organisation has conducted a number of joint mock drill with national disaster response force (NDRF).

According to a press release, Tinsukia division, Assam State conducted joint mock drill on April 25, 2018 and October 11, 2018 New Tinsukia Yard. Lumding division, Assam state conducted joint exercise on June 14, 2018 at New Guwahati (NGC) Yard and on March 16, 2018 at Sitchor yard. Rangiya division, Assam state conducted joint exercise on September 12, 2018 at Rangapara(RPAN) Yard. Alipurduar division, West Bengal state and Katihar division, Bihar state combinely conducted table top exercise on January 5, 2018 and joint mock drill. Katihar Division, Bihar state conducted joint mock exercise November 21, 2018 at Manihari station. All joint mock exercise were lead by Commanding Officer NDRF, Sr DSO of divisions, Dy CSO/Mech/HQ nodal officer of NFR/t-IQ. In this mock drill, a coach is derailed and kept tilted with the help of l4OTon Brake down Crane to simulate an accident.
