PIB Guwahati holds webinar on skill development

GUWAHATI: Press Information Bureau (PIB), Guwahati organised a webinar on National Youth Day on Wednesday to celebrate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and spread his philosophy and ideals, which could be a great source of inspiration for the Indian Youth, stated a press release.

Addressing the webinar Dr Anupa Lahkar, Assistant Professor of the Department of Communication & Journalism, Gauhati University, said that skilling of youth is very important for the growth of India and the Government is taking all sorts of initiatives to make the youth skillful. She further said that utilitarian approach in education is very important to include youth in nation building.

Speaking in the webinar Ravi Shankar Ravi, editor of Dainik Purbodaya, said that youths need to be focused in their lives to bring positive changes in the society. He urges the students to ignore those things which are not important for their career. The webinar was attended by the officials of the Press Information Bureau, Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB) of Guwahati, staff of the Field Units of ROB and students of Gauhati University. Sucharita Sahoo, Field Publicity Officer, ROB, Guwahati delivered the welcome address and Smita Saikia, Media and Communications Officer, PIB ,Guwahati, moderated the webinar.
