GUWAHATI: Communication and COVID-19 awareness among Infrastructure and Tertiary sector vital, experts opined in a Webinar organised by Press Information Bureau, Guwahati on the topic here on Friday. Experts from medical fraternity, government sector along with academicians deliberated and discussed about the potential way to tackle the COVID situation from medical and policy perspective.

Dr. Rakesh Garg, Anaesthesiology, Pain and Palliative Department, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, AIIMS, New Delhi emphasised on COVID precautionary measures to tackle the infection involves maintaining personal hygiene, following strictly the guidelines/norms/information by health authorities such as staying at home, maintaining adequate social distancing at the public places, conforming to government orders and guidelines and avoiding rumours, would help tackle COVID situation.

DK Kamra, Regional Executive Director, Airport Authority of India, New Delhi said that Airports are playing a vital role in awareness among passengers about COVID. He said that Communication and COVID-19 awareness among Infrastructure and Tertiary sector is pivotal so that the message and awareness about COVID has its desired result.

The webinar was managed and coordinated by Samrat Bandyopadhyay, Joint Director, PIB, Guwahati, stated a release. PallavChakravorty, Deputy Director, PIB welcomed the experts as the interactive webinar had enthusiastic participation of students, academicians and medical fraternity of Assam and North East Region as they said that this information cum knowledge webinar would helped them in informed decision making and to be aware about prior precautions to address the COVID situation.

Along with students, eminent journalists and other government senior officials from Doordarshan Guwahati, Regional Outreach Bureau, Guwahati, All India Radio Guwahati were also present on the occasion.
