GUWAHATI: The Pratibandhi Suraksha Sangstha, Assam (PSSA) on Monday observed 'black day' against the incident of October 5, 2018 where police baton charged disabled persons while they were demonstrating over a slew of demands.

The PSSA stated that after the atrocities meted out by the police towards the disabled persons on October 5, 2018 while they were protesting for their long-standing demands. Since then the day has been observed as a black day.

On Monday, the PSSA staged a demonstration under the Bhimrao Ambedkar statue The Pratibandhi Suraksha Sangstha, Assam (PSSA) on Monday observed 'black day' against the incident of October 5, 2018 where police baton charged disabled persons while they were demonstrating over a slew of demands.n Dispur demanding punishment for the 'erring' police personnel. "On the aforementioned date, the PSSA members were protesting over 21 special demands which include - accommodation, monthly allowances, construction of a rest house, and renovation of the special schools. Despite numerous appeals for justice, the government didn't initiate any investigation," said Nripen Malakar, secretary of PSSA.
