Pre-revision work for photo poll rolls underway in Assam

GUWAHATI: As per the directive of the Election Commission of India, pre-revision activities pertaining to the special summary revision of photo electoral rolls (qualifying date January 1, 2023) are underway in Assam.

The Election Department, Assam has issued guidelines to the district-level election officers in this regard. The process of rationalization and re-arrangement of polling station commenced on August 4 and it will continue till October 24. The process will include change of photos of voters which are of poor quality etc. The main revision activities will commence once the pre-revision activities are completed on October 24.

The integrated draft photo electoral rolls will be published on November 9 next, which will be a part of the main revision activities. Claims and objection regarding the draft rolls can be filed between November 9 and December 8. The authorities concerned will dispose of all claims and objections by December 26 and the final rolls will be published on January 5, 2023.
