Guwahati: Publication Board Assam (PBA) has released the yearbook of the Board for the book fairs to be held during the year 2018-19.
Informing this, the secretary of the Board Promod Kalita informed that besides the book fairs, the Board will publish and reprint 100 important books during the year.
The book fairs by PBA will be held at five different places in the state, namely, Sonitpur, Majuli, Nalbari and two book fairs in Guwahati. In Sonitpur district the book fair will be held in tea garden areas from November 1 to November 4. Keeping in tune with Children’s Day on November 14, Children Book Fair will be held at Chandmari in Guwahati from November 11 to November 14. Again Guwahati Book Fair will be held in the same venue from December 22 to January 2. Rural Book Fair will be held at Borbori in Nalbari from January 21 to January 24. On the other hand, from February 9 to February 11 Kalakshetra in Guwahati will witness the holding of the Brahmaputra Sahitya Utsav by PBA. Lastly, the Majuli Book Fair will get underway at Majuli from February 25. These decisions were taken at the executive meeting of the Board in the presence of the State Education Minister.
