Purabi Dairy distributor's murder: Police detain 2 persons for questioning

GUWAHATI: Dispur Police have detained two persons for questioning in the gruesome murder of Purabi Dairy distributor Ranjit Bora in the Panjabari area of the city on Monday.

According to police sources, two employees of a restaurant near the place where Bora was shot at, have been detained by police for questioning.

On Monday, Bora was shot at by two motorcycle-borne miscreants while he was going to deposit money in the ICICI Bank, Panjabari branch. He was about to alight from his car (Wagon R with registration number AS01BH5022) when the two miscreants came and tried to snatch his money bag. A struggle ensued and suddenly, one of the youths fired at Bora. Bora's brother lodged an FIR at Dispur Police Station and the police registered a case 2479/22 u/s 392/302/32 R/W 25 (1) (A)/27 of the Arms Act.
