GUWAHATI: There is no connection of any legislator in the hit-and-run case involving a luxury car of model Rajkanya Baruah in the wee hours of October 2, said City Police while reacting to various rumours on the alleged high-level connections of Rajkanya.

City Police added during the continuous interrogation of Dr Navanil Baruah – a senior doctor of a city-based private hospital – it has come to light that Rajkanya had sent WhatsApp messages to Dr Baruah threatening to commit suicide if she was not admitted in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) of that hospital. Dr Baruah also had telephonic talks with the State DGP (Director General of Police) regarding this case before admitting her in ICU.

Meanwhile, Kamrup (Metro) DC, Biswajit Pegu told the media her on Saturday, "Probe will be carried out about each aspect of this case which is evolving daily during interrogations of various people. We will also investigate as to how the authority of the city hotel allowed the night party to continue even after 10 pm when the COVID-related curfew starts.
