GUWHATI: The water level of the river Brahmaputra in Guwahati is continuously rising towards the danger level. The water level reached to 49.10 metreson Wednesday evening and thus only 58 cms is left to touch the danger mark.

Due the continuous rising of the water level, a part of Lachit Ghat where the replica of Model Village was set up beside the river Brahmaputra in Machkhowa area is now under water.

The danger level of Brahmaputra in Guwahati is 49.68 metres. Whereas the level was 48.00 metres on June 17, 49.00 metres on June 22 and 49.04 on Tuesday, the level reached to level of 49.10 metres on Wednesday. Though the level remained almost at a constant level between Monday and Tuesday, it raised by 6 cms between Tuesday and Wednesday.
