GUWAHATI: Consul General of Royal Bhutanese Consulate Phub Tshering today called on Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and talked on a gamut of issues of mutual interests.

Chief Minister Sarma while extending his gratitude to the Royal Bhutan King and the Prime Minister for their statesmanship which helped in strengthening the bilateral relations between India and Bhutan with special focus on Assam, reiterated his government's keen interests in increasing the mutual engagements of Assam and Bhutan. Samra also advocated for constant people to people contact between Assam and Bhutan, increase the trade volume, build new roads to take Assam-Bhutan relations to a greater height.

Consul General Phub Tshering also thanked Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for his statesmanship which manifested in the form of more meaningful relations between Assam and Bhutan. He also sought his help for the Bhutanese students to come to Assam for higher studies, a press relesed said.
