The RPF (Railway Protection Force) of NFR (Northeast Frontier Railway) arrested a tout and recovered 10 used railway e-tickets and also apprehended another person and recovered two mobile phones, belonging to a train passenger.

GUWAHATI: The RPF (Railway Protection Force) of NFR (Northeast Frontier Railway) arrested a tout and recovered 10 used railway e-tickets and also apprehended another person and recovered two mobile phones, belonging to a train passenger.

At about 11:40 hours on July 26, a CIB team of RPF/Tinsukia and RPF Post/Dibrugarh Workshop conducted raid jointly on received information regarding touting activities by a shop named "T.D. Communication" situated at Poruni Masjid in Dibrugarh District of Assam. During the raid and search in this shop the RPF team apprehended one person namely, Tridip Deori of Madhupur Deori Gaon near LP School, Police Station: Borbaruah; in Dibrugarh District. The team recovered 10 used railway e-tickets worth Rs. 59,507.96. The mentioned tickets were generated by using his personal user IDs. one laptop, one mobile handset and one printer were also seized from the shop. In this regard RPF Post/ Dibrugarh Workshop registered a case.

In another incident, on July 24/25, 2021 while caryying out night checking duty, RPF personnel of Rangiya Post and QRT/Rangiya apprehended one person namely Sanjay Narzary of Kumarikata, in Baksa District of Assam. The team recovered two mobile phones from his possesion. One of the mobile phones was stolen from a passenger of train no. 03175 UP, namely Jaydev Sarkar of Bankura District in West Bengal. Later, the apprehended person along with the recovered mobile phones were handed over to OC/GRP/Rangiya for further necessary action, stated a press release.
