GUWAHATI: The Sadou Asom Devalay Sangha (SADS) has appealed to priests as well as the public to enter various Maths-Devalays (shrines) only if they are double-vaccinated.

Talking to The Sentinel on Monday, principal secretary of SADS Kailash Sarma welcomed the latest Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued by the State Government to curb the spread of COVID-19, especially the 'no double vaccine, no entry' policy.

Sarma said that they have asked the management committees of all 108 Devalayas under SADS to implement this policy in case of both priests and devotees. He said that adherence to the Government's policy will not only help contain the pandemic, but also provide some relief to the Health Department.
