GUWAHATI: Section 144 have been imposed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajveer in the entire Central Police District which covers areas under Paltanbazar, Panbazar, Latasil, Chandmari, Geetanagar, Pragjyotishpur, Noonmati and Satgaon Police Station. The order was issued on 21st January, 2021.
The order prohibits assembly of more than five persons, agitation, demonstration, rally, procession, mashal procession and shouting slogans in the entire Central Police District.
The order was issued after concerns of disturbance by unspecified persons or groups to the normal functioning of offices, movement of public and flow of traffic in parts of Central Police District, Guwahati, breaching peace and public order.
