Senior Doctors of IMA, Assam branch take out procession against CAA

STAFF REPORTER

GUWAHATI: Senior doctors under the banner of Assam branch of Indian Medical Association (IMA) on Tuesday took out a procession in the city demanding scrapping of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA). The procession was taken from Ambari to Latasil playground where the All Assam Students’ Union leaders and activists were resorting to Satyagraha in protest against the CAA.

Noted neurosurgeon Dr Navanil Barua who participated in the procession alleged that both those sitting in Delhi and Dispur are suffering from ‘mental disease’ as they are bringing illegal Bangladeshis into the State to make the indigenous people minority in their own land. He said the Citizenship (Amendment) Act cannot be accepted under any circumstance. The IMA has extended full moral support to the ongoing agitation against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act.
