Thousands take part in protest against CAA organized by AASU at Biswanath Chariali

Biswanath Chariali: Thousands of common people came out to streets on Tuesday at Biswanath Chariali to take part in the Gana Satyagraha organized by AASU to protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act that started at Bakari here. Several like minded organizations including AJYCP, AGSU, AAJU, Axam Xahitya Xabha, Nagarik Santha, Senior Citizens’ Forum etc took part in the agitation. The protesters shouted slogans against the Act and marched throughout the town. They also demanded immediate scrapping of CAA in the greater interest of the common people of the State. The artiste community of the town also extended their full support to the agitation. AASU’s central Assistant secretary Duldul Borkataki led the procession along with other AASU members. The procession ended at Kamala Kanta Kshetra in front of Biswanath College. Teachers, employees students, businessmen etc participated in the 10 km long procession.
