Silver Jubilee Year for Kamakhya Nagar Durgotsav
GUWAHATI: The Kamakhya Nagar Durgotsav Celebration Committee, which is a unit of the Kamakhya Nagar Development Committee, is going to celebrate the 25th year – the Silver Jubilee – this year. It has formed a committee for the Durga Puja with Subhash Paul as its president. The motto of the committee is – together in harmony, we march/equal to the 25th —, a press release said.
Parallel to the traditional religious purity and fervour, Kamakhya Nagar promises for the projection of a novel message through its ‘Mondop’ (pandal) decoration, lighting illumination and glamorous paraphernalia. Activities of the committee are on the peak, said organizing secretary of the committee Dilip Seal.
Cleanliness and environmental pollution will be given due emphasis as part of the puja celebration, said joint secretaryi Sanjoy Das. The task of pandal decoration has been assigned to the ‘Rajdeep Decorators’. During the days of celebration renowned local light decoration Jagannath Das will be creating heavenly magic with his skills of illumination with the famous lights from Chandannagar. This time Kamakhya Nagar will hold the auspicious Puja inauguration on the “Tritiya” day i.e. on October 1, 2019. Besides, distribution of cloths among inhabitants of old-age homes and children of orphanages, distribution of fruits among the sick etc., are also included in the agenda.
