Suicide bid in Guwahati city; guard found dead

GUWAHATI: One Kanak Deka (42), a cleaning staff at the office of the Commissioner of Police, Guwahati, tried to stab himself to death inside the office canteen on Wednesday.

Police sources informed that Deka has been admitted to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in a critical condition.

Meanwhile, in another incident, a security guard named Kumud Boro (52) was found lying on a drain inside the Om Apartment complex in Hatigaon here on Wednesday.

Police sources said the body of the deceased, who hailed from Boko, has been sent for post-mortem.
