Supreme Court Bar body donates for flood relief in Assam

GUWAHATI: The Supreme Court Bar Association has provided Rs 11.25 lakh for distribution of relief materials to the flood-affected people of Assam. The amount has been remitted to the Assam State Legal Services Authority (ASLSA) for utilization for the purpose.

While expressing its sincere appreciation to Supreme Court Bar Association for its generous contribution, the ASLSA mentioned in an acknowledgement letter that the fund would be used towards purchase and distribution of relief materials to the flood-affected families of the Dima Hasao and Cachar districts. The ASLSA further stated that amount contributed by the Supreme Court Bar Association would reach the neediest people and hoped that it would provide some respite to the victims of the recent devastating floods in the State.
