Teachers' body appeals Assam Government for regular salaries

ASPTA has appealed to the State Government to ensure that teachers under the SSA are paid their salaries regularly every month.

GUWAHATI: The Assam State Primary Teachers' Association (ASPTA) has appealed to the State Government to ensure that teachers under the Sarba Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) are paid their salaries regularly every month.

The ASPTA said that many contractual teachers under the SSA are yet to receive their salaries for the month of July last. The teachers' body pointed out that many those have to pay monthly installments against various bank loans and non-receipt of monthly salaries creates problems for them.

The ASPTA has submitted a memorandum to Assam's Education Minister, Ranoj Pegu in this connection.
