This assurance was given during a meeting between the SSA authority and representatives of the ASPTA. Talking to The Sentinel, ASPTA's secretary-general Ratul Chandra Goswami said that the SSA Executive Director informed them about ongoing review of the list of amalgamated schools as per the teachers' body's demand, and also asked them to provide input regarding valid objections regarding specific schools.

The SSA Executive Director also assured the ASPTA that steps are underway to resolve the issue of two or more appointments against a single post, Goswami said. The Executive Director further informed the ASPTSA that the respective Service Book of teachers will be upgraded between June 15 to July 15 every year and necessary instructions will be issued to the District Elementary Education Officers (DEEOs) for the purpose.

Goswami added that the SSA Executive Director further informed the ASPTA that the process of distribution of copies of appointment contracts to teachers is now underway, as desired by the teachers' body. The SSA Executive Directive also requested the ASPTA to provide a list of schools that have not received exercise and evaluation books, so that the required books may be provided within the current month itself.

Goswami said that the ASPTA has requested the SSA to issue fresh guidelines regarding opening of banks accounts by primary school students, as they are facing a lot of problems under the existing system.
