TET-qualified Primary and Upper Primary Teachers in Troubles

GUWAHATI: Around 19,000 TET-qualified teachers appointed as primary and upper primary teachers on a contractual basis in 2017 have not been able to prove their D. El. Ed qualification despite having passed the examination. The NIOS (National Institute of Open Schools) where such teachers underwent D. El. Ed has not yet issued the certificates to the TET teachers. Of late, the SSA has issued a directive for the inspection of qualification of these TET teachers. The teachers have shown their mark sheets but the SSA wants the certificates. These teachers had to undergo D. El. Ed as they had been asked by the department to complete D. El. Ed.
