Time scale of Assam Civil Service officers approved

GUWAHATI: The Personnel Department, Government of Assam, has issued an Office Memorandum granting approval to the timescale of Assam Civil Service (ACS) officers.
ACS officers will be eligible for higher pay after completing six years of service in the ACS, 12 years of service, 19 years of service and 21 years of service.
A member of the Assam Civil Service in Junior Grade/ Senior Grade-II/ Senior Grade-I/ SelectionGrade/ Secretary to the Government of Assam shall be eligible for drawal of pay and allowances ofhigher grade subject to condition that:
(i) A member of the Assam Civil Service will be granted the next higher grade pay along with corresponding allowances on completion of requisite qualifying period with the current grade pay, only if the officer has not been regularly promoted during the period mentioned above.
(ii) The first upgradation is subject to the condition that there is no disciplinary or criminal proceeding against the officer.
(iii) An officer shall be entitled to the immediate higher grade pay only, irrespective of the number of years by which he/ she may have exceeded the requisite qualifying period within a particular grade.
(iv) The placement of officers in the higher time scale of pay through financial upgradation will be purely on personal basis and will thus neither amount to functional or regular promotion and will not require citation of new posts for this purpose. Therefore, in the event of receiving benefits of higher time scale of pay as per the Office Memorandum, the current designation of the officer will be retained until the officer is regularly promoted and the officer will continue to perform the roles and responsibilities corresponding to his current designation.
