Tinsukia Killings: Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi talks to Assam DGP

GUWAHATI, Nov 2: Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi condemned the killing of five people on Thursday at Dhola in Tinsukia district and termed it as an act of weakness and senselessness on the part of the miscreants. In a statement issued to the media on Friday, Prof. Mukhi talked to Assam DGP Kuladhar Saikia over phone. The DGP, who is at present camping in Tinsukia district, took stock of the situation. Prof. Mukhi asked the DGP to carry out an exhaustive and foolproof man haunt to nab the culprits. The Governor also appealed to the people of the State to maintain restraint and help in government’s broad agenda of protecting the lives and property of all. He also said that Assam is a land where people belonging to all sections have been living peacefully since ages and everything possible will be done to strengthen this age-old mutual and peaceful co-existence.
