Training for newly-recruited PHE Assistant Engineers

GUWAHATI: A six-day induction training programme for 23 newly recruited Assistant Engineers under Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) is being organized at the Key Resource Centre (KRC), Jal Jeevan Mission PHED Assam in Guwahati from the February 19 to 24.

The training programme aims at building new work culture which is based on transparency, performance and productivity and also providing a forum to exchange and stimulate new ideas, stated a release. The training will focus on giving a concept of rural water supply system and sanitation activities of the department among the new employees attending the training. It will also focus on knowledge related to water treatment processes, MB recording, PFMS & SNA system, structural design, RTI Act, Civil Service disciplinary Act, SCADA, procurement and e-tendering etc. The trainees will also be exposed to water supply scheme and water and Sanitation Park during the field visit. On the first day of the training session on Friday, PHED Minister Rihon Daimari addressed the participants.

PHED Commissioner & Secretary Dr. Siddharth Singh stressed and motivated the participants on implementing the learning experiences of the training at the grassroots level and reach out more people of the community. The Chief Engineer (PHE) Water gave a brief introduction on Jal Jeevan Mission, its objectives, vision and operational guideline. Further, the Chief Engineer (PHE) Sanitation delivered a session on Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) and elaborated on sanitation as a whole in rural Assam.
