GUWAHATI: An orientation and training programme for NGOs organized at the conference hall of Kamrup (M) Zila Parishad under district unit of the National Child Labour Project (NCLT) Society was attended by representatives of eight NGOs.

The NGOs are the ones that implement projects under the NCLT in the field and such trainings make them apt in the implementing projects.

Speaking on the occasion, ADC Pallabi Kachari said, "The NGOs play an important role in the implementation of NCLT projects in Kamrup (M) district. The NGOs need to work with dedication to put an end to child labour in the district."

District Information and Public Relations Officer Ratan Soud said, "The NGOs should also play a role to impart job-oriented courses to child labourers, besides education." NCLT's Kamrup (M) district project manager Moushami Mahanta was also present at the programme.
