USTM, Meghalaya Designs Special Curriculum for PwD Students

GUWAHATI: The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) has come out with a ray of hope for the physically challenged students by taking a remarkable initiative ‘I Can I Will Academy’.

‘The I Can I Will Academy’ is an initiative to support and care those who want to excel in sports and cultural arena along with their studies as well as the physically challenged persons who find difficulty in attending regular classes or in appearing examinations. Prior to this, USTM has designed all new flexible courses and it was launched at the Guwahati Press Club on Friday by USTM Chancellor Mahbubul Hoque. Hoque said that students having expertise in sports and culture including the physically challenged ones will get free education and other facilities in the university. He further said that USTM is also thinking about talking to employers as well, so that the students with physically disability can get employment. He said that I believe we will feel rewarded if we can create and provide a healthy environment for physically challenged students.
