Veteran journalist Sivasaran Kalita passed away on Friday due to Covid-19. He was involved with “Aajir Asom”, a vernacular daily of the Sentinel group.

GUWAHATI: Veteran journalist Sivasaran Kalita passed away on Friday due to Covid-19. He was involved with "Aajir Asom", a vernacular daily of the Sentinel group.
Kalita who was well known for his literary works and social activities belonged to Chaygaon in Kamrup district. He was admitted to a Guwahati-based private hospital a few days ago after being detected with the dreaded virus. He passed away at around 7am on Friday. Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed condolence over the death of the senior journalist. The Assam Press Correspondents Union (APCU) also condoled the death of Kalita.
