World Environment Day: Plantation drive carried out in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Bethany Social Service Centre, an NGO located at Gorchuk carried out a plantation in the run-up to the World Environment Day. The NGO carried out 50 saplings plantation drives in various alum areas of Guwahati and on a few school's premises. 2022 marks 50 years since the first United Nations Conference on Human Environment - the 1972 Stockholm Conference that initiated and designated 5th June every year as World Environment Day. Keeping in mind the motto of this year "only One Earth" which calls for collective, the NGO took transformative action to protect and restore the planet earth, a press release said.
