Pallav Gopal Jha Appointed as New Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (M)

GUWAHATI: On Wednesday 3 November, a major bureaucratic reshuffle was carried out by the Personnel Department of Assam for the betterment of public service as ordered by the Governor of Assam.

According to the recent notification, interchange in the positions of officials includes the transfer of many top officials, secretaries, deputy commissioners, and around 26 top bureaucrats from Assam.

COMMISSIONER OF KAMRUP (M)

One of the major interchanges is that Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Metro, Biswajit Pegu has been transferred and posted to the position of Deputy Commissioner; Dibrugarh accordingly the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup has been transferred as posted as Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup.

WHO IS PALLAV GOPAL JHA

Pallav Gopal Jha was born on 14 July 1985 and studied Bachelor of Science with a Chemistry major. Jha is a 2012-batch officer from Jharkhand, India. He was earlier appointed as DC of Sivasagar, Assam, and then in Dibrugarh by succeeding Laya Madduri, IAS, and now posted to DC of Kamrup.

Throughout his service in Dibrugarh Jha had made a lot of progress initiating development projects under the Oil India Limited CSR programme. He is also one of the IAS officers from the Northeast who made it to the 'Fame India List of 50 best performing district magistrate of India 2020' and was nominated in the "accountability" category.

OTHER MAJOR CHANGES IN BUREAUCRATIC RESHUFFLE:

• Deba Kumar Mishra, PPS to the chief minister and MD, Assam Tourism Development Corporation is transferred and posted as DC, Biswanath.

• Dibakar Nath, ADC, I/C Bijni is transferred and posted as DC, Karbi Anglong.

• Hivare Nisarg Gautam, DC, South Salmara is transferred and posted as DC, Nagaon.

• Mridul Yadav, Deputy Secretary of PHE Department and Joint Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission is transferred and posted as DC of Karimganj.

• Joint secretary of the Welfare of plain tribes and backward classes Department, Krishna Baruah, is transferred and posted as DC of West Karbi Anglong.

• Pallavi Sarkar, ADC, Hailakandi is transferred and posted as DC, South Salmara.

The reshuffle added Dima Hasao DC, Paul Baruah transferred and posted to Charaideo New DC, and DC Paranab Kumar Sarmah , Biswanath transferred and posted as new DC of Darrang district.

In case of the change in the Finance department, Nazreen Ahmed, Director, Financial Inspection and Additional Secretary has been transferred and posted as DC of Dima Hasao.
