Railway Budget proposes many projects for North East

The New Railway For New India has proposed for many projects for the development of North East

The following are proposed for NF Railway in Budget
> Budget proposes 4 additiol pit lines (for cleaning trains) with covered shed, 12 stabling lines & 2 automatic washing plants to be constructed at New Guwahati at cost of Rs. 233 crore 
> Railway Budget also proposes to update Coaching complex at Lumding with remodeling of Lumding Yard and shunting lines at a cost of Rs. 129 crore
> Survey for new railway line to centre of Vaisvite movement Majuli from Harmuti sanctioned at a total cost of 95 lakhs 
> Nearly 40 crores have been allocated for 42 ongoing surveys in N.F.Railway for construction of bridges, new lines, doubling etc. Major boost to rail connectivity initiative
> More than 222% increase in allotment in the prelimiry Engineering cum Traffic survey for 343 km long Lumding to Dibrugarh double line. About 209% increase in allotment for Fil location survey for 62 km long BG line between Sibsagar to Jorhat
> Rs 400 Cr allocated for provision of Foot Over bridge and high level platforms at different stations over NFR in Budget 2018.
> Nearly 200% increase in allotment for Fil location survey for 257 km long BG line from Dimapur to Tizit and nearly 174% increase in allotment for Fil location survey for 99 km long BG line from Salo to Khumtai
> Rs 181 Cr allocated for for remodeling of Guwahati station yard in Budget 2018. All platforms set to be lengthened to accommodate 26 coaches and 2nd entry to be provided 
> Keeping safety as the topmost priority an amount of Rs 113 Cr has been fixed as outlay for renewal of track related assets and 970 Cr for renewal of bridge assets in Budget 2018 for NFR
> Budget 2018 gives a new DEMU shed at Lumding at a cost of Rs 74 Cr while DBRG workshop will be augmented for handling of LHB coaches at a cost of Rs19.34 Cr.
> Outlay of Rs 46 cr and Rs 3 cr has been provided for various works for improvement of passenger amenities in Assam and galand in Budget 2018.
> Railway electrification works to the tune of Rs 1377 Cr, 11 Cr and 1.68 Cr for Assam, Aruchal Pradesh and Mizoram respectively included in Budget 2018. A total of 1463 km track is to be electrified as NE heads
