According to reports, the Union Cabinet today approved 100% Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in single-brand retail through automatic route.
Earlier, FDI was up to 49% was permitted, beyond that limit government's approval was required.
Union Cabinet also gave nod for 49 % FDI in AirIndia under approval route, according to reports.
As per reports, in a statement issued by the government, it said that the move was taken to to liberalise and simplify the FDI policy to provide ease of doing business in the tion.
