Lets first understand What is What is Gingivitis? Gingivitis is defined as a sudden inflaming of your gums which is caused by bacterial infection grown into your teeth. If you do not undergo any treatment then you may suffer from another dangerous dental infection known as periodontitis. It may eventually result in loss of teeth. Common symptoms of gingivitis include redness and bleeding of gum, puffiness, etc. however, these basic signs can be cured by healthy hygiene of your mouth like brushing, cleaning your mouth with moderate mouth wash, etc.

As the symptoms are moderate in gingivitis so sometimes the patient may be clueless that they are having it. But in any case, it must be treated properly before getting too severe.

Types of Gingivitis (Gum Infection):

There are basically two types of infection:

  • Plaque-induced: it is occurred by plaque, medication, or malnutrition
  • Non-plaque: it is occurred by specific bacteria, fungus, or virus. There can be zero cause sometimes.
  • Causes of Gum Infection (Gingivitis):

    It is caused because of the bacterial plaque formed around your teeth. It can destroy your gum tissues and eventually lead to loss of teeth.

    This is formed naturally and can be stuck to your teeth. If the plaque is not treated properly then it can lead to irritation of your gum and also gum inflammatory. And that is why gum bleeds. Below are some other causes of Gingivitis or gum infection..

    Practicing Oral Hygiene:

    Before switching to home remedies, you need to first make sure that you are practicing special oral hygiene at home. Like:

    1. Brush your teeth regularly

    2. Buy a new brush every 3 months

    3. Flossing after meal

    4. Avoid tobacco

    5. Have a dental care routine once a year.

    At-Home Remedies:

    Use Saltwater:

    treating your gums with salt water can be very beneficial for your mouth. It can make your gums healthy and prevent gingivitis.

    Instructions: Mix 3 to 4 spoons of salt into lukewarm water and floss it continuously for 1min. split it out and repeat for twice a day.

    Clean your mouth with mouthwash: you need to clean your mouth regularly with an advanced mouthwash. Please do not swallow it.

    Lemongrass Oil:

    Instructions: Take lemongrass essential oil and mix 2 to 3 drops with water. Floss it for 1 min and spit out. Repeat twice per day.

    Aloe-vera Juice:

    Instructions: floss with aloe vera juice for one min and spit out.

    Tea Tree Oil:

    Instructions: mix 2 to 3 tee tree oil with water and floss it for around one min. spit out the fluid.

    Coconut Oil:

    Oil pulling techniques can also be tried to improve bacteria reduction and amends oral health.

    Have 1 to 2 spoons of coconut oil into your mouth and swish it for 30min. spit out the oil and wash your mouth with water.

    Clove:

    Applying clove can also prevent plaque and gingivitis.

    Turmeric Gel:

    Turmeric is anti-fungal and it can reduce gum bleeding and helps prevent redness of your gum.
